Lil Reese Caught on Video Brutally Beating Up a Woman | Breaking News for Black America

Remember the days when men protected women? There was a time that we taught our sons to “never hit a girl.” But it seems that those times are long gone.

When I ride down the street, I pass young men with pants sagging down to their knees. They give me a hard stare that penetrates through my windshield. They stand boldly with rebellion in their chests.

These young men were never taught to protect and value a woman. Or, to treat females like they’d want their mothers or sisters to be treated. No, they strike out at girls. They want to sex them, run tricks, and prove their manhood with both their fists and di%#s.

Lil Reese Caught on Video Brutally Beating Up a Woman | Breaking News for Black America.

Do we blame this phenomenon on young, single mothers who teach their boys to ‘not take nothing off a female’? Or, the boys who walk away from raising their sons, repeating the vicious cycle? Or, the misogynistic rap (not hip hop) that teach a generation that girls “ain’t nothing but bitches and hoes?”

Where does it stop? Who will lead them? Who will teach the lost generation?

So you support gay marriage and abortion, eh?

I know this is a controversial blog. As a writer, we sometimes have to face controversy (our characters do).

A while ago, I had a debate about gay marriage with my boyfriend. He asked about my voting position. I rambled off on a tangent, “Marriage is between a man and a woman.” Hear me out, regardless of your views. He then asked, “What about your friends who are gay?” Wow.

That’s when it hit me. I was hypocritical. Continue reading

What if everyone thought like Romney?

Hypothetical situation: You and Romney sitting next to one another on a park bench and he happens to see an EBT card fall from your wallet (food stamp card), do you think he’d categorize you as one of the 47%?

Like many of you, I was taken aback, wayyyy back with this newest gaffe. You see, I’ve hit some hard times in my life and had to rely on unemployment and food stamps at one time or another. And, the only way I can graduate with my Master’s degree is to take out loans. Unfortunately, I can’t borrow that type of money from my family. Continue reading

The thing that’s brought me out of blogging hiatus…

There’s been many events that have taken place that I wanted to blog about…like my daughter’s crossing ceremony…my surgery…the knight who cared for me…love…sisterhood, etc. And, I’ll get to it. But….

Today I saw a post on yahoo news:

Some African-Americans waver over vote: Many black clergy are telling their congregations to stay home on Election Day”

As women over 40, do we have to act 20?

Housewives of Atlanta … Orange County … Beverly Hills … New Jersey… Mobwives … Basketball wives … Baseball wives … groupies, wanna-be’s, etc and etc.

Why do these women – wives, mothers, entrepreneurs, over fourty – act like they’re under twenty? When did the word “bitch” become a term of endearment and insult? Could someone help me to understand how these females speak of themselves so highly, but before the commercial break they’re screaming, “Bi%&! You better respect me!”

I have best friends and very good friends, and not once have we cursed or talked about each other in that manner. We’re opinionated and vent to others, but never, ever have we acted like any of the grown women on television. I don’t think I could have any friend in my camp like that.

The shows are toxic, and I can’t commit to giving them my energy and mind space. However, they tend to pull many viewers. Soooo, if you watch them, please share:

1. Which show of these grown women, do you despise the most? And why?

2. Which of these women do you love to hate?

This one I just had to share…if you’re a mom, you’ll understand

So, there we were in line – early. Thank goodness because not even five minutes later the line was wrapped around the corner. Yes, the Charlotte Roller Derby is very popular. I wanted my daughter to experience the raw awesomeness of girl power.

I shared with Dove my knowledge of the game and then we eavesdropped in a convo that described it much better. That night our Charlotte team played Philadelphia — big, bossy girls who liked to push and play dirty. Yeah! Continue reading
